Just as Leeds United increase the pressure in the Championship title race, the coronavirus epidemic has begun to hit the sporting airwaves, putting the end of the season at a slight risk.
Last week, the Telegraph claimed that Liverpool were by no means guaranteed to be crowned Premier League champions if the season has to be cut short by the disease, which would surely mean the same applies in the second-tier.
Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Graham Smyth has since tweeted an article about the EFL’s intentions, revealing that they are in close contact with the government as well as its clubs, which fans at Elland Road have been reacting to.
It’s also been claimed by The Times that there is a possibility that games are played behind closed doors and televised in order to minimise the risk of spreading the virus.
Here’s how fans have been reacting to the news…
Such an update was slammed by the overriding majority with it being labelled as a “joke” and as “madness” while one supporter believed it would be the “most Leeds thing ever” to miss out on promotion due to an external factor outside of their control.
This was backed up by another who joked that the club would finally gain promotion just as the world’s population dies out.

A further member of the Whites faithful said it would benefit striker Patrick Bamford as the lack of fans will make him believe he’s training, so there’s less pressure on him to find the net.
Others claimed they would be attending regardless of the outbreak, even if it gets worse.
Plenty of supporters at Elland Road were prepared to take such risks in order to see their side earn a return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.
There was even a comical image put in by one fan of him wearing some sort of gas mask, claiming he was “ready” to face what is coming.
While many slammed the EFL and Sky Sports as they believed other factors were subtly hidden in their agenda.
A couple of fans slammed the EFL for trying to stop Leeds from gaining promotion while one fan was worried about the price of their TV subscription increasing.
