As reported by The Guardian, Rafa Benitez is seriously considering his Newcastle United future after a disappointing summer transfer window and it’s West Ham United who could benefit.
What’s the story?
The Magpies failed to bring in any players in the last two weeks of the summer transfer window and it could cost them dear with a long English Premier League season ahead.
The situation is reported to have caused frustration for Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez. The Guardian say he has lost so much trust in Mike Ashley’s running of the club that he would be open to a switch to West Ham should they part ways with Slaven Bilic.
Bilic is under significant pressure at the Hammers after a poor start to the season, form which has rolled over from last term. The paper reckon if West Ham were to say goodbye to the Croatian, they would have to pay £5m-£6m to bring the Spaniard south to London per the terms of his contract.
It all leads to a rather frustrating situation for fans of both clubs who will not want protracted drama when points are up for grab in the weeks to come after the international break.
This fortunes of these two clubs will be a very interesting watch for neutrals. Will Benitez be the Irons’ manager by the end of the season?
