According to reports in Greece, Arsenal are 'very close' to securing an agreement for attacking midfielder Karetsas, who can also play as a winger, to join them this summer for a fee worth up to £38m ($51.6m).

The 17-year-old has drawn comparisons to Arsenal captain Odegaard and if this deal goes through, the teenager would become the most expensive Greek transfer signing of all time – breaking the record held by Kostas Manolas when he swapped Roma for Napoli for £30m ($40.7m) in 2019.

The report adds that the deal would see the Greek international, who scored three goals in 38 appearances for the Belgian side this season, loaned back to Genk for the 2025/26 campaign before linking up with Arsenal from 2026.
